Terms of use
Last updated 12 October 2026
Occasion Apps is run by a sole trader in Victoria, Australia (ABN to be added). “We” and “us” means us; “you” means the person using the service — either the organiser, who sets up and pays for an event's app, or a guest, who joins it.
What we provide
A personalised web app for one occasion — a trip, party or weekend — reached by a link and a PIN and installed from the browser. It includes the features described on our site for that occasion at the time you buy it, plus any add-ons you pay for.
Organisers
- You sign in with your email address and are responsible for who you share the link and event PIN with.
- You must be 18 or over to create and pay for an event.
- You can remove guests and content from your event. You're responsible for the event's content you add, including names, photos and wording drafted for you that you choose to keep.
Guests
- You join with your name and choose your own PIN. Keep it to yourself — anyone with it can post as you.
- What you post (messages, photos, votes, cost entries) is visible to the other members of that event.
Fair use
Please don't use Occasion Apps to post anything unlawful, to harass anyone, to share someone's intimate images without consent, or to try to get into events you weren't invited to. We can remove content or suspend an event that breaks these rules.
Money between guests
The shared costs and settle-up features only keep a recordof who paid for what and who owes who. The app never holds, collects or moves money between guests, and we're not a party to any arrangement between them. Check the numbers before you transfer anything.
Golf scores, handicaps and side-game results are calculated from the data entered. They're for your group's competition — please check them before money changes hands.
Paying for an event
Building and previewing an event is free. You pay once, in Australian dollars, when you share it with your group. Prices include GST where it applies. Card payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. Refunds are covered in our refund policy.
How long an event lasts
An event's app is fully usable until 30 days after the event ends, then stays as a read-only keepsake until one year after the organiser signed up. After that it and its data are deleted, unless you've paid to keep it longer. See our privacy policy for what we store.
Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Where the law lets us limit our liability, it is limited to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid for the event.
We work hard to keep the app running, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable — have a back-up of anything critical, like booking confirmations.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects an event you've already paid for, we'll email the organiser first.
